Werribee Mausoleum extension: construction update

The Werribee Mausoleum is expanding with more than 200 new crypts. Here's what's happening at the site and what visitors need to know during construction.

We’re pleased to share that construction on the third stage of the Werribee Mausoleum is progressing as planned, with no delays over the summer period. The project is progressing well towards completion by October this year.

Recent updates on this project include:

  • The crypt’s concrete slab is now complete, and the new toilet sewer connection has been installed.

  • Our team is currently working on reinforcing and forming the crypt walls.

  • Work will soon commence on pouring concrete for level one of the crypt and preparing level two for the next stage of construction.

The structure will continue to rise as construction progresses on this exciting project. The extension will provide over 200 new crypts, beautiful landscaping, sheltered spaces for reflection, and a new accessible pedestrian entrance from Railway Avenue.

Thank you for your ongoing support as we create a peaceful and welcoming space for families in Melbourne’s west.
