Access changes to Williamstown Cemetery – 9 April to late April.

From Thursday 9 April to late April, the Level Crossing Removal Project will carry out works near Williamstown Cemetery that will affect access.

If you’re planning to visit Williamstown Cemetery from Thursday 9 April to late April, please be aware that nearby level crossings will be closed and access via Park Crescent will be restricted while the Level Crossing Removal Project carries out works.

What to expect

  • There will be no pedestrian or vehicle access to Williamstown Cemetery via Park Crescent.

  • The Champion Road level crossing will close to vehicles permanently from Friday 10 April.

  • The Maddox Road level crossing will be closed between Railway Parade and Macauley Street from 7pm Thursday 9 April to 3am Saturday 25 April.

Detours will be clearly signposted during the works.

  • Access to Williamstown Cemetery will be via the Champion Road entrances.

  • Visitors approaching from the west will be redirected via Millers Road to Akuna Drive.

  • Visitors approaching from the north will be redirected via Melbourne Road.

Please allow extra travel time when visiting during this period.
