GMCT hosted some high profile guests at the recent opening of the Werribee Mausoleum extension.

Members of the Wyndham City Council including the Mayor Cr Adele Hegedich and representatives of the Italian Consulate joined GMCT staff, trust members and local families to celebrate the unveiling of the new wing.

The multimillion dollar extension has provided the community with an additional 170 crypts. Strong community interest and pre-sales take up mean 60 per cent of the available crypts have already been sold.

The original mausoleum was constructed in the 1990s and reached capacity in late 2012. The decision to extend reflects the high level of demand noted during community consultation.

An official blessing will take place at 2pm on 23 March 2016 and will be conducted by the Most Reverend Archbishop Denis J. Hart. Members of the public are welcome to attend.
