18-month-old Sophie Schulz died in 2009 after she became caught underneath a hydraulic massage table. Recently her parents spoke at a grief lecture to help others deal with grief and bereavement.
The annual grief lecture hosted by the Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement (ACGB) and sponsored by GMCT featured a screening of 'Remembering Sophie', a documentary about the Schulz family's experience.
Afterwards the family spoke in a panel discussion with ACGB director Chris Hall, where they provided insights into the grieving experience and their thoughts on how others could help during phases of grief and bereavement.
GMCT sponsored the lecture to ensure members of the public could attend free of charge and GMCT CEO Jacqui Weatherill was in attendance on the night (pictured below with Sophie's parents Justine and Brendon Schulz and ACGB director Chris Hall).
