GMCT’s CEO takes up new position at City of Stonnington

Jacqui Weatherill has resigned as CEO of The Greater Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust effective from 28 June to take up the CEO role at Stonnington City Council in Melbourne’s inner south east.

On behalf of the GMCT Board and management, we congratulate Jacqui on her appointment and thank her for the contribution she’s made to GMCT and the cemetery sector in Victoria and beyond over the past seven years.

Jacqui is an experienced CEO, a strong leader and an innovative and creative thinker. During her time at GMCT, Jacqui has created a culture of safety first and importantly, she has built a highly engaged and compassionate workforce.

Further, Jacqui has led major infrastructure projects incorporating innovative world-class design and consultation methodologies, supporting the new memorial park at Harkness, which when constructed will be 3.5 times the size of Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens.

Jacqui is committed to understanding and meeting community expectations. She also has a track record of investing in people and technology to deliver a high quality customer experience efficiently and cost effectively.

GMCT will continue to serve its families across our 19 cemeteries. We have appointed Deb Ganderton, Director Service & Engagement to act as interim CEO from 28 June while we recruit for the position.
