The Northern Memorial Park extension (River Red Gum Park Project) will initially provide an extra 1400 graves for the northern suburbs following completion of the first stage in 2018.

Covering approximately 50 hectares, the site will be developed in three stages over the next decade.

The River Red Gum trees at the site, which are a prominent feature of the landscape, will be retained as a major historic landmark.

Lawn headstones, lawn plaques and directional monumental graves will be provided to cater for the needs and preferences of the various communities the new cemetery will serve.
