Members of GMCT’s community advisory committee (CAC) recently gathered at the Quang Duc Monastery in Fawkner for their quarterly meeting and a special tour of the grounds led by committee member Senior Venerable Tang, an abbot at the monastery.

The committee aims to strengthen GMCT’s community partnerships and community engagement. It has two main roles:

  • To share knowledge with GMCT from a range of cultural, religious, community and industry viewpoints and represent community and consumer views on all areas of cemetery operations.
  • To provide advocacy on behalf of GMCT to community networks and groups.

The CAC includes trust members and representatives of friends groups, religious and cultural organisations and other community interest groups acting in a voluntary capacity.

Membership of the committee is a unique opportunity to assist us to achieve our mission of providing final care for your loved ones with dignity and kindness and of serving Melbourne’s diverse communities.

We welcome applications from prospective members with an interest in cemeteries and the important role they play in our society.
