Each year, GMCT assists more than 12,500 families – of all cultures and faiths – plan and prepare for funeral, cremation, interment and memorial services.

In 2018, we hope to continue providing services and support that give you and your family peace of mind.

We also hope that you will continue to share your feedback, ideas and hopes for our cemeteries.

Our work in the coming year will be guided by our strategic goals: to build community connections, strive for operational excellence, provide lasting stewardship for our cemeteries and memorial parks and develop into an agile, change-ready organisation.

Detailed Information about our plans for the upcoming year and the work we will do to achieve this is available as part of our 2017-18 annual plan. This will include some important developments at our cemeteries.

We’ve listened to your requests for additional burial and memorialisation space at our parks and we’re pleased to advise that new plots will become available in the coming year.

GMCT invites members of the community interested in purchasing plots at the Northern Memorial Park extension in Glenroy, the Keilor Cemetery extension and the proposed ‘Plaza of the Holy Angels’ mausoleum at Fawkner Memorial Park to formally register their interest for first opportunity to purchase in 2018. For more information or to register your interest, contact our customer care team on 1300 022 298 or email enquiries@gmct.com.au

Improving the experience of our customers and the ways we connect with our communities will also be a priority for GMCT this year, as we continue to explore new and bold ideas.

The chair of GMCT’s community advisory committee, trust member Liz Beattie recently shared our community engagement plans for 2018, including our largest community consultation program to date and the creation of an innovative online ‘community voice’ panel that will set new engagement standards for our industry. You can read more about that here.

Exploring online technology can assist us to build community connections that will remain an important area of focus as we begin delivering on a new digital strategy. Work on this important project will continue for the next three years.

The activities we will explore and deliver as part of the digital strategy will provide you with more opportunities to engage with GMCT at your convenience, regardless of time and location. Importantly, they will help us meet the needs and expectations of our families and customers as we move into the digital age.

We look forward to another year creating lasting memories and peaceful places for our communities to reflect and remember.

Whether you have a loved one interred with us, use our cemeteries for leisure and recreation, or have an interest in your local community, history and heritage, our cemeteries are here for you, and for everyone.
